Anniversary in Cefalù

The cathedral in Cefalù

Today is Ewa’s and my 2nd anniversary. We’re now two years together, and she’s still cool ;)
Anyway, we’ve decided to spent a romantic day in the medieval village of Cefalù, 60km east of Palermo (Train ride = 11,40 EUR for 2 tickets).
Cefalù is one of Sicily’s most beatiful spots with nice beaches, a lovely old town with narrow streets, the famous Duomo di Cefalù, an Arab-Norman style cathedral, and of course La Rocca, a 278m high rock with a castle on top located directly behind the city (2,50 EUR entry fee). To reach the top it’s an 30 minutes walk from Piazza Garibaldi. On half way up, Ewa decided to stop because she was totally exhausted. But she said to me that I should go to the top alone and she would wait, and so I did. From the top you’ll get nice views in all directions and if you’re lucky you’ll see the Aeolian Islands looking Norh-East.
After a nice romantic day in Cefalù we took the train back to Palermo where we picked up some cheese and two bottles of Sicilian wine (1,25 EUR each!!), and so I’m sitting here (alone, Ewa went directly to bed :)) in Giorgio’s kitchen eating the cheese and drinking the second bootle of wine while writing this bog entry.
But now it’s time to go to bed because tomorrow we have to get up early to catch the train to Agrigento at 08:35.
